My fave Rep. ❤️
Via Kyle Griffin:
Rep. Jamie #Raskin is now calling on House Republicans to end their #Biden #impeachment inquiry following this indictment of the FBI informant at the center of the GOP's bribery allegations.
Attached: 1 image The first of these 4 cohorts of the status quo: "The first group cares about the policy. They benefit from it. They’ve organized themselves around it" is what pisses me off whenever someone tries to overturn a wrongful conviction. Time and again one sees DAs and police fighting tooth-and-nail to maintain a conviction when it's become plain to all the convicted person was innocent. Why? Because admitting they'd made a mistake "undermines confidence in the system." https://seths.blog/2024/02/the-four-cohorts-of-the-status-quo/
Over the summer, I tweeted (I am *NOT* calling it X) something in response to a post about cubicles. A NYT columnist contacted me and wanted to interview me for a quote, and the story (and a quote from me 😀) was published in last Sunday's NY Times. It's at the very end of the story (the "pull quote," the author called it). Here's the link (gift link, so you should be able to read it even if you don't subscribe):
The #Bible has been removed from libraries in Utah after a parent used a new law that permits the removal of "pornographic".
The parent argued that the Bible contained topics such as incest, bestiality, genital mutilation, and infanticide, making it pornographic under the new definition set forth in Utah Code Ann. § 76-10-1227.
A GOP lawmaker expressed "sadness" regarding the situation.
Oh, that's cool! Just added a Mastodon verification from my Wikipedia user page.
3 easy steps:
* A link to my Mastodon account on my Wiki user page.
* Under preferences for your account, there's a section "URLs to external profiles": added the same link there.
* Then added a link to my Wiki user page to Mastodon - instantly verified.
👏 to @taavi for making this possible & to everyone spreading the word. Wikipedia + Mastodon is such a great match!

Attached: 1 image It's now possible to mark links to your #Wikipedia user page as verified on Mastodon! Documentation: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Help:Extension:RealMe This was developed and implemented by @taavi who wrote it as a #MediaWiki extension, named "RealMe". It's open source (like all of the Wikipedia software) and can be used on any MediaWiki wiki: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RealMe
