Howdy. I'm trying to find a place on the internet where I can be myself, and find folx with similar interests.

I am a climate and ecology oriented farmer, working with organic livestock and tree crops in the Midwest US. My focus is on ecosystem stewardship and community resilience, but mostly navigating surviving as a food grower and living simply. Trying to write some.

Not a natural with digital tech, but I'm pretty good with a pitchfork.

@benjaminbramble Hello, Benjamin, and welcome! I hope you find some good people on here.

My recommendation: follow heavily to start and follow all the hashtags you’re interested in. You can curate later but following heavily will get you a good TL to start.

@benjaminbramble welcome! I think you’re gonna like it here 😄 🌱
I’m currently studying permaculture and hoping to figure out how to come out of my shell in person to get into that whole community thing and help others wake to regenerative ag at any scale. Found so many likeminded folks in the Fediverse!
@benjaminbramble
Welcome! People are nice here. I’ve found a lot of nature and animal lovers from all over the world. Not so much organic farm stuff which is also my thing, but I haven’t really looked. You’ll find it, I’m sure.
@benjaminbramble Welcome. All good stuff. Looking forward to your posts.

@benjaminbramble Hi Benjamin. Project Mushroom (and its affiliated server Spore) on Mastodon are people focused on climate action and climate justice. I'm not sure how many specifically focus on food systems and ecology, but I'm sure there are a few.

Another online group who are also involved with some on-the-ground projects of agroecology, etc., is earthregenerators.org

Cheers -Preston

@benjaminbramble welcome from someone trying the same on the West Coast!

@benjaminbramble Hey! 👋🏼

I work in agriculture and AgTech, great to see the community growing!

@benjaminbramble I’m following you hoping to learn more about your interesting work!

@benjaminbramble regenerate.social is a good instance to meet permaculture people.

You might also want to connect with @BrahmaBelarusian if you don’t mind the introduction

@jblue @benjaminbramble good to know and thanks for the introduction.

@benjaminbramble That makes two, I am also looking for such a place :)

Here are a few hashtags to follow. But I haven't found the right people or groups to follow yet either. Oh yeah and welcome to mastodon ;)

@benjaminbramble Hi Benjamin. Good luck getting started.

As you get more familiar with it, people will be glad to help you with tips or how to links.

Here's a place to start, kind of a general resource for tips.
