Almost 24 hours later and still no official/unofficial info from inside Twitter. I'm going to continue as if this was all done on purpose.

What now? Ivory goes into hyper mode with just the absolute minimum 3-4 things that have to be done finished up and then off to Apple. Probably going to be a bunch of things I'm not super happy with but I guess we'll fix it in post.

Hopefully everyone knows what we're capable of and can live with some, hopefully not long lived, rough edges/missing features.

@paul

Unfortunate it had to happen this way, but we’re happy to support Ivory :)

@Sonikku @paul this is the GIF I was looking for
@bigboat I'm very happy we both thought of the same gif
@Sonikku @paul
@paul Anxiously awaiting it. Thanks for making Ivory. This was the kick I needed to get cracking over here.
@paul ready to support whether it’s Tweetbot or Ivory!
@paul thanks for what you’re doing
@paul i totally agree with you and I’m looking forward to Ivory!
@paul if you aren’t embarrassed by your release version, then you probably aren’t moving fast enough.
@paul best luck! Ivory has been my daily driver for a few weeks now and I’d be more than happy to buy it even in its current state.
@paul Honestly it’s already better than any app I’ve used for mastodon so far, so I wouldn’t sweat it too much. I’ll just be happy to be able to subscribe. Appreciate all the work on this and Tweetbot.

@PilotConway @paul

Well said. Exactly same for me with Ivory - the alpha version is awesome and I’ll be subbing immediately on release

As for Tweetbot, it was the only reason I could still tolerate Twitter. Their own app has always been utter toilet and best avoided at all costs.

Now there’s absolutely no reason for Twitter whatsoever.

@paul We understand. We will give you money now.
@paul Honestly, it’s already awesome. I’d pay now given the chance. Just happy to support.
@paul I’d also go as far to say that the lack of any official/unofficial response is a deliberate decision.
@paul keep fighting the good fight
@paul thank you for the years of hard work on Tweetbot and now on Ivory. Consistently one of my most used apps on every iPhone I’ve owned.
@paul Much respect for the high standard that you hold yourself to but it’s more than good enough. Please let us know how we can help besides getting out the word.
@paul Agree that Musk did this on purpose to Tweetbot and other 3rd party twitter clients. looking forward to Ivory.
@paul enjoying the beta so far! I’ll definitely support the full version as well. Keep up the great work!
@paul it’s so good already!
@paul This app is already a way better experience than the default twitter app so go for it!
@paul as someone who tried *many* times to get into the beta, I’m excited by this. I’m not often this excited for an app to take my money!
@paul I would love to try @ivory as I’m using Tweetbot since years.
@paul it took me a couple days to notice the things that are missing from Ivory because it’s so solid and what is done is done so well. Find a reason to charge me $50/year and I’ll pay it.
@paul let me know when i can pay
@paul It’s horrible that Twitter is treating their developer community this way, keeping them in the dark for this long.
@paul Tweetbot has earned you lots of benefit-of-the doubt. And to be fair, there’s a lot that Ivory does so well already! Whenever it gets into the App Store, you’ve got a subscription from me.
@paul sucks this is how it happened. I’m the mean time I turned off auto renew on my Tweetbot sub. I’ll turn it back on if Twitter fixes their shit but I’ll gladly pay for Ivory. Already the best Mastodon app I’ve used.
@paul Y’all get a lot of shit for turning Tweetbot into a subscription app or charging for version updates, however I’ve always been a huge fan of @tapbots and am more than willing to buy the ticket and take the ride. Looking forward to Ivory!

@paul can’t wait and looking forward to the release regardless of state.

Thanks for all the work you and the team do!

@paul Oh yes, at least for me, I have zero issues starting light and getting more features later as long as I have a proper Mastodon client :)

Been using Tweetbot for ages now, I already feel the need after less than 24 hours without it!

Kudos for all your great work, my money is ready for Ivory

This is good news (incited by bad news). The most incredible thing about Ivory is that any “rough edges” are substantially more polished than many other shipping apps.

Take my money, @paul!

@paul As far as I'm concerned, the most critical feature missing from the current TestFlight build is: "Let me give you money to support development of everything else in the feature roadmap".
@paul Fixed in latest build.
@paul if there is a dev team one can trust it’s you guys at tapobots.
@paul i love it as it is now and will pay for it.
@paul we’ve watched Tweetbot launch back in the day already super awesome (like Ivory is now) and got to watch it evolve and grow, and this will be no different!
@paul honestly, I was pleasantly surprised how far along the app was when I got into the beta. It’s obvious how much care you both have put into it and each update has significant improvements. I would pay for it the way it is already.
@paul 💯% trust. Take my money :)
@paul my Tweetbot subscription was about to renew. I’m absolutely ready to pay for this app as-is and look forward to doing so
@paul maybe add tip jar too?
@paul Sure feels like and Elon Musk trial balloon. If it was an accident, we’d know they were working on it by now. If it was a new policy, Elon would have tweeted it.
@paul Ivory has felt solid from the very first builds. 👍 Still crossing my fingers for Tweetbot.
@paul Ivory already feels so polished compared to everything else out there. You’ve got this!

@paul Like I said to someone else, I'm blown away by how good @ivory is been as an *alpha* release. There are a few features missing and some bugs (the audio one drives me nuts) but you guys have built up a LOT of goodwill.

Ivory is a very good app *NOW*. Release it, charge a fair price for it and build in more features going forward. I'll be first in line to buy it. 😀

@paul I would happily pay ten bucks right now for the beta version as it is. I certainly trust you to do amazing work and keep improving it. Have ever since weightbot.
@paul As a daily Ivory user, this is more polished than any Mastodon all out there. And better designed. I’d be happy to pay a subscription fee for it, much like with Tweetbot.
@paul your software was a part of my life for years, Paul. I’m so sorry that he’s done this to your business. I can’t wait to buy a copy of Ivory.
