I am extremely excited about this work! It opens a new and useful way of using agents (addressing a new category of "FOMO" tasks). And, it's highly generalizable: monitor prices, paper pubs, GitHub, Discord -- even traffic cameras, all with a simple text prompt

SentinelStep teaches agents to wait, monitor, and act.

SentinelStep enables AI agents to handle monitoring tasks that run for hours or days, like watching for emails or tracking prices. It works by managing when agents should check and their context, avoiding wasted resources and missed updates.

My iPhone home screen looks very different this month, after maybe a decade without much change:

Lastpass -> 1Password
TweetBot -> Ivory
Dark Sky -> Weather

It’s funny how you get used to things being a certain way…

@paul Ivory feature request: I’d love to be able to search / see the public Home feeds of other instances where I don’t have an account. This would make choosing only one “home” less consequential. I can already do this on the web, or the Toot! app.

"With AI, now any idiot can write malware!"

As a security researcher, I can assure you that idiots have been writing malware for quite some time.

And now dead again, along with some old unused API keys, which proves that this was intentional and we and others were specifically targeted.

I wouldn't have swapped out the keys in the first place if there was even a shred of communication. Figured if nothing else this would push the issue.

Oh well, on to smaller but greener pastures.

Coming from TweetBot on the birdsite, the @ivory Mastodon client is absolutely fantastic — it’s just was Mastodon needs. But now I’m wondering: why not merge the two? They both already support multi-account, and their interfaces are almost identical. Try as I might, there are still some folks I can follow only on Twitter.
