@theloneapple @drewharwell
Presumably some of the journalists deleted the "offensive" tweets. I believe for most, that's the way back.
IMO, journalists should not delete factual reporting just because the social media site's owner dislikes said reporting.
@pinchera @theloneapple @drewharwell it's ridiculous to be pressured to remove non-violent, non-vulgar posts/tweets in order to be allowed to stay on a social media.
Facebook has done the very same thing at times.
If journalists are complying, that, too, says a whole lot about them.

One possible response: screenshot the offending tweets, delete them, go back into the acct to get whatever you need, post the screenshots as new tweets (and/or repost the same text with a note of when they were originally posted) and then fly free of the bird site.
UPDATE: That's coming from the perspective of a journalist not in such a situation, though.
I am willing to bet Drew hurt Elon's feelings, and Elon can't let that go since he has to be a victim. If facts hurt so much, stop asking for facts.
@drewharwell You're correct. It's hypocritical and unfair.
But I'm really glad you and many other journalists are here and I don't feel the need to log on to Twitter to catch up on news links.
It appears that there isn't going to be a major media backlash to this. There should be. There should be a mass migration of media orgs away from Twitter with each setting up their own Mastodon instance. If that were to occur, Twitter would die. Why is the media so keen to bend over backwards in accommodating the tyrant?
It's not the media who should've responded. "The media" is a group of companies, made up of people trying to earn a paycheck and make a living. They're on Twitter because the majority of eyes are there.
People should have responded. Some did. Many of those are on Mastodon now.
Now, we keep going. We keep growing. When "the media" can survive here, they'll come as well.
Twitter didn't happen overnight, neither will the exodus.
Hadn't heard that but would be great if so.
@dallas @drewharwell What would the rebellious Rosa Parks do? Make a scene
It is only a matter of time before some other #journalists offend the delicate sensibility of #HisMuskiness.
Makes the case as to why #SocialMedia needs to be #decentralized so it cannot be controlled by narcissistic #billionaires. #Mastodon is the solution, the #PoisonPill to proof against narcissistic takeovers of the public square
Stick a fork in it, Twitter is done.
@jamie_loonam @pburke46 @drewharwell
Since Mastodon references and links are banned there, a workaround to help people find you as they leave (without triggering EM)...
...a burner email that you can set to auto -reply with details for your other socials, or just this one :)
+ tweet out/pin this email addr and put in your profile for people to find
+ download your data and trace whatever new accounts for the people you follow that you can
+ leave that hellhole
@drewharwell it seems Elon is just waiting you all out.
He probably already has a taker for CEO, is buried up to his neck in crashing finances and worried sick about Saudis who don't like bad investments.
He does Not give a damn.
@drewharwell
There should be a list posted of folks suspended on twitter and for what reason.
Make it a miniimum of 1000 followers or some other metric.
@drewharwell same, and all I did was look up what other planes Falcon owns. I posted their tail numbers (public info) and a link to the FAA site with the actual details etc.
Aah well... So him
It’s almost like you’d be better off, leaving Twitter all together.
