It's day 7 of me and some other journalists being suspended on Twitter because we reported factual public information that Twitter's "free speech absolutist" owner didn't like.

It appears that there isn't going to be a major media backlash to this. There should be. There should be a mass migration of media orgs away from Twitter with each setting up their own Mastodon instance. If that were to occur, Twitter would die. Why is the media so keen to bend over backwards in accommodating the tyrant?

It's not the media who should've responded. "The media" is a group of companies, made up of people trying to earn a paycheck and make a living. They're on Twitter because the majority of eyes are there.

People should have responded. Some did. Many of those are on Mastodon now.

Now, we keep going. We keep growing. When "the media" can survive here, they'll come as well.

Twitter didn't happen overnight, neither will the exodus.
