@anirvan I'm Teochew with South tribal Vietnamese roots. My Indigenous family overseas lost their lands from foreign ecocide & I've been fighting alongside First Nations here for 30+ yrs against deforestation, violations of treaty & human rights & corrupt govts in same beds with industry greed mongers. I've been arrested 47 times, so far, for civil disobedience & been locked up multiple times. I refuse to stand down & stop fighting against colonial greed forces. This is the hill I'll die on.

@anirvan Diasporan in the sense that my (paternal) ancestors left (were coerced to leave) India in the second half of the 19th century. Not Indian enough to claim an unhyphenated identity without some measure of trepidation. Indian enough to have had a grad student walk up to me at a conference and ask “are you Indian” 😀
