I found a short story about a year or so ago that I'd recommended in a reply to someone's post here on mastodon. I'm trying to find that story again, and stupid old me didn't save it. I don't remember the name, only that it's an absolutely gorgeous queer body horror piece. Does anyone know if there's some way I can search for my own reply? I desperately want to find it againโ€”and save it properly this time.
I'm back here after quite some time. Hello, writers!
SFF readers, I'm curious: Do you prefer books with multiple POVs or a single POV? I'm sure most of you wouldn't mind either way, but if you had to pick?

How do wonder and joy visit you? How do you hold onto them?

It is literally impossible to explain ADHD task avoidance to people who don't experience it, I think.

It has to sound absolutely insane to just sit around, filled with dread and anxiety, not doing a small thing you "could do any time" that really needs to get done. And to just continue that way for hours, days, weeks, months, even fucking years.

Like, who lives that way? How can anyone live that way? (I live that way, but I don't know how I survive)

the problem with knowing that body doubling works really well for focus and motivation is the flipside of not being able to do much alone and then feeling the absence of another person a lot more strongly

halfway through the structural edits for my story and PHEW. this takes a lot of brain work. i'm quite happy with how this is developing now though.

pro tip for when you're on a publishing deadline: have a writing buddy you can meet with and work alongside. it makes things so much easier and faster, esp if you're ND like me ๐Ÿ˜„

publishing update: started working on structural edits today. one scene in & i'm exhausted. need to pace myself so that i maintain the same level of quality through this final draft. also need ice cream. lots of ice cream.
there needs to be a separate word for the very specific disappointment that comes with seeing your freshly earned money leave your bank account as you pay bills one after another at the start of every month
