Are you a #Python developer / user / etc? Would love to follow you! Please boost so we can find all our people!

I'm an avid #Pythonista, former @ThePSF Director + Chairperson + Fellow, and #PyLadies #Chicago organizer. Let's chat and be friends!

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF

YES! I am a pythonista fullstack person. I just started working a Senior Data Scientist at GivingTuesday but my main passion is NLP + machine learning applications to real world data sets.

Hello, @Lorenanicole! I briefly met you at PyCon this year. It was a pleasure.
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Yes! #Python, #javascript, and #VB.net professionally. Also work in #cpp on the side.
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF
I've been learning #Python since the pandemic because I couldn't go to the pub; I'm currently working on a GUI project for work to help me with my tasks and really enjoying it.

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF #Python hobby developer here. I've built a set of websites and APIs for #WaitWaitDontTellMe Stats using Python and either #Flask or #FastAPI.

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF hello. Working on a user-friendly desktop operating system using #PyQt for many of its utilities. Any interested #python hackers around? https://hellosystem.github.io/
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF just followed. Long time python user (since 1.5.2).

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF

I'm learning #Python right now! Just a few weeks in, and I'm loving it (though most of the time I don't feel like I know what I'm doing!).

@ZombieRasputin @Lorenanicole @ThePSF #Python is one of the best languages out there. Easy to learn, yet so powerful. If you know other languages it will feel like cheating.
@deavid @Lorenanicole @ThePSF I’m slowly figuring it out! I was a computer nerd since the early 90s who never really dipped his toes into coding until now. It breaks my brain in a good way.
yup, for hacking tooling mostly. :P fastest way to get stuff done for me.

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF

I use Python for research! Data/image analysis and mathematical modeling, mostly.

@ThePSF @Lorenanicole

Been an enthusiastic Python user/dev for 17 years. I work as a mechanical engineer and use Python for lab automation (as in, of actual physical things), data collection & analysis, and prototyping new devices there.

I also use Python for personal projects (web dev, desktop apps), along with CircuitPython.

Made it to my first PyCon last year, and hope to go again this year!

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Ha, well, I'm also a former PSF director and chairperson, from way back in the early days of the organization, so your post jumped out at me. I also co-founded @wingware (Python IDE) where I still work. I've been using Python every day since about 1998, and still having way too much fun with it. That said, I don't tend to post a lot about programming, more about my garden and such things, so not sure how interesting I would be to follow. 🙂
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Hi Lorena. I call myself a "practicing pythonista"; in reality, I'm still learning, hopefully the intermediate materials by now, no longer the basics 😂
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Does a forced enthusiast count too? My 12 year old godchild is learning Python at school and I’m trying my best to hold up and help him.
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Like Stylus I’m also into #adafruit Circuit Python, a fork of micropython for microcontrollers. Former PHP/SQL developer. Now I do hobbyist projects with LED’s, 7-segment displays, keyboards, cyber decks, embedded applications, etc… After living in a virtual world on the web for more than a decade, anything that interacts with the real world I find fascinating. https://youtu.be/nHS1NcqewoI

@Lorenanicole Great to meet you Lorena! 😊🖖 Fellow #Python dev here, currently playing around with more experimental things, like live programming streams 🍿 and a virtual pet chatbot 🐕📱
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF 👋 It’s my main language for DL engineering and research. Excited about all the recent async, typing and speed improvements!
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Python is pretty much all I use. Its a phenominal language.
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF 20 years of python and still going strong. Teaching interns using python, it's our primary language. Python is the foundation for my current business. Absolutely love it! Thanks for your work at the psf.
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Cool to see more PyLadies here! I am a former biologist who learned #rstats and fell in love with coding. So much that I left my previous field and now I am a #DataEngineer working in #python and lately #AWS Judging purely by your name, do you also speak Spanish? 😊
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Hi, Pyladies Berlin organiser here. 👋 I'm an active open source contributor and especially enjoy organising open source hack nights within PyLadies. 😊
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Please also follow my awesome fellow organisers and open source contributors @discombobulateme and @noatamir 😊

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF

I have been a #pythonist for many years, I use #Python wherever I can. I'm a user of my favorite #KDE, #opensource. I have the https://github.com/darekpages repository
I am interested in #miniature and #rpg #games. I make cardboard #miniatures. I like #sf and come up with scenarios.
I have a #dog, a little #wolf named #Miki. I am happy to make contacts.

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Python since 2012. Good to meet you.

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF @Lorenanicole @ThePSF
hey there, nice to meet you here... 20+ years coding, 8 years Python, still learning.

I don't think we met at PyCon (I attended 2015-17) but we likely crossed paths. That conference is ginormous!

@Lorenanicole I've been a big Python nerd for about 15 years! I've written a bunch of Free projects & libraries, but I don't have any sort of prominent role in the community. I just write stuff :-)
@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Hi Lorena's #Python party! Python user since 2002 I think? My most recent fun side project was cross referencing IMDB's top 250 #movies of all time with common sense media's age ratings, to give a list for busy parents to brainstorm some quality movies for their kids, after watching Sonic a hundred times. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QGWERrmkE6-jj97pHDstTZ49wNcsl_Whxm6vKnJNdLU/edit?usp=drivesdk

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Hey Lorena! My name's Jürgen. I have been a #Python developer for a very long time.

I am a #tox maintainer, PSF Fellow, and I currently work for #Canonical in the Launchpad team, taking care of the build infrastructure of #Ubuntu, so all the little packages keep flowing on an `apt install`.

I fondly remember you announcing my lightning talk 2021 at #PyConUS

Hope to meet you in person some time!

Cheers,
Jürgen

@Lorenanicole I mean, I barely write code these days but when I do, there's a reasonable chance it's #python. Does that count? 😛

@Lorenanicole @ThePSF Yes, I'm a full-stack developer (Python combined with Angular). Been using Python since, at least, 2004.

#python #fastapi #angular #webdev #indiedev

New to #mastodon? Don't know who to follow? Find awesome people on Mastodon. Followgraph looks up all the people you follow on Mastodon, and then the people they follow. Then it sorts them by the number of mutuals, or otherwise by how popular those accounts are. It then shows the list with Mastodon links to follow them. https://github.com/gabipurcaru/followgraph https://followgraph.vercel.app/ @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected]
