Officially erased my bird site presence this morning and with it my associated contacts. I haven't seen a wide-scale migration yet of the #weather / #wxtwitter community, which accounted for half of my Twitter contacts.

As a sort of final #introduction post and calling card for the weather community, one of my primary uses of Twitter was to share my #WeatherPhotography and #storm reports. I'll probably continue to share weather and #climate content here! CW's as needed. Some of my faves below.

@paulknightly
half the weather nerds will migrate to Jeff Master's blog at Yale Climate Connection ... ha ha ha, only half joking.

(Oh, it's also Bob Henson's blog too now)

@paulknightly these photos!!!!!!! Thatโ€™s a follow for me!
@paulknightly It's definitely a quality vs quantity adjustment. Hopefully the weather community will build up with a better focus here. Wonderful images!
@paulknightly I'm also keeping a hopeful eye out for birdsite weather, good to see you here :)

Stunning images; truly awesome!

@paulknightly

Greetings. I'm not one of your past twitter followers, but these are fascinating photographs and my aim for my presence at mastodon is to mix up my sources and escape the echo chamber, so I am following you now.

@paulknightly Hi from a skywarn volunteer in New Orleans! Also, a kid who grew up in a very active tornado alley!! Beautiful work!
@paulknightly As a storm-loving Brit, I have hankerings to do a 'storm chasing' trip in some battered campervan around the Texas Panhandle trying to capture CtoG photos on camera. Alas my nerves of driving on the opposite side of the road would get the better of me and I'd end up sat in a scruffy motel watching some storm chasing programme on some obscure TV channel in deepest darkest Oklahoma or Arkansas! #weather #stormchasers
@lyndabowyer Probably more nerve-wracking would be trying to be amongst the many chasers that leave all common sense behind when driving. If you really wanted to do that, the better bet would be to do something like Roger Hill's Silver Lining Tours as he has experienced drivers and usually chases away from the big crowds.
@paulknightly
Nature is AWESOME and you've captured some of its best moments.
@paulknightly Glad I found you. #WeatherPhotography is right up my alley.
@paulknightly These are very, very beautiful.
@paulknightly Mastodonians love weather! Itโ€™s all we talk about some days.
@paulknightly Following purely because of the stunning images. ๐Ÿ˜
@paulknightly use hashtags and follow the weather hastags.
@paulknightly
Thanks for these. I love them
#Weather
@paulknightly Absolutely spectacular photos, Paul. I have about half my followers still on the birdsite. I personally donโ€™t think Twitter can last much longer, but who knows. Glad you are here!
@paulknightly So happy you are here! These are amazing.
@paulknightly I couldn't erase mine. I got booted. Glad you're here!
@paulknightly Wonderful photographs, the one with the mammatus is glorious.
@paulknightly Thank you for posting. Those are great weather images! I could imagine those largescale on dorm rooms or at home. Matt Zaffino on KGW Weather (Channel 8 in Portland, OR) would love to see those. He educates us regularly.
@paulknightly Just stunning pictures. Please do share here.

@paulknightly

Welcome!

Some are are working on #wx bots. There are others out there. Don't have all of their handles handy in the top of my mind.

I've been paying attention and spotting minor bugs with the bots.

It's just a matter of time. Be patient.

It is organic in the Fediverse.

An amazing phenomena.

@paulknightly Ooh, weather photos, yes please!
@paulknightly please invite more #wx friends here
They were always my favorite follows
Can NWS stand up its own instance? I hope so

@paulknightly

Your photos are awesome! Welcome to Mastodon.

@paulknightly beautiful! Lovely mammatus clouds ๐Ÿคฉ
@paulknightly I just left Twitter as well. I haven't taken my account down yet but probably will soon. It's not like I had a major presence there anyway.

@paulknightly Stunning photography.

Thank you for sharing, and welcome!
