Don't let it stop you from creating your own weird worlds for all to see.
Don't let it stop you from becoming a spark in the darkness.

The Good Friday Agreement only came about through a heroic effort by so many people. A tremendous amount of forgiveness and forbearance was needed on both sides to even sit in the same room as each other after all that had been done to their people. But there they sat, eventually, and they talked, and they agreed.
Peace once seemed to be impossible in Northern Ireland. It wasn't. We've been at peace for 28 years now.
It wasn't easy. But it reminds you of what can be possible.
Things I learned today:
First U.S president to advocate for universal health care was Theodore Roosevelt (R).
Next president to try getting it established was Eisenhower (R).
Even Nixon (R) tried (unsuccessfully) to expand coverage for health care.
Itโs only in the last fifty years that GOP has framed taking care of peopleโs health and well being, irregardless of income/wealth, as godless socialism.

Whiplash summers becoming more intense

Iโve been binge-listening to Lost Terminal podcast. I'm a fangirl now. Itโs fiction, but not. Itโs a podcast, but feels like a film or book. Beautifully written, beautifully voice-acted. A gripping, immersive hopepunk journey. I feel like Iโm in the story, living on post-collapse Earth. Itโs moving, funny, dramatic. Itโs the clear-eyed, informed, hope-ridden social commentary I didnโt know I needed about AI, climate collapse, degrowth, technology, solarpunk & community.
