Really sad to see #Xata Lite going away. One of the few free database options where they don’t harass you about inactivity (cf. supabase guys)

Migration guide from Xata Lite

Everything you need to know about the Xata lite deprecation and migration.

Ugh, trying to work out if it's worth the hassle to pay for a Postgres hosted db, or stick with #Xata (lite).
I'm having a lot of issues with it, but it is free....

PgUS Diversity Scholarship Application

Please complete this form to apply for a grant to virtual or in-person conferences or events with the goal of either learning or presenting about PostgreSQL. Applicants must be from a traditionally underrepresented and/or marginalized group in the technology and/or open source communities including, but not limited to: persons identifying as LGBT, women, persons of color, persons with disabilities, veterans, and/or students. Individuals who apply should be active members of the open source community who are unable to attend for financial reasons and are unable to get funding from their companies. Applications are reviewed at a minimum on a monthly basis, and approved on a case-by-case basis. Please note that grant disbursements may be a partial and not full reimbursement based on available funding and applications received. We understand that it takes time to make travel plans and get your affairs in order prior to traveling. In the final question, you have an opportunity to add any relevant information to your application. If you are stressed about having enough time between being notified of your scholarship application status and your travel dates, please let us know in this section and we will do our best to accommodate you. Your chances are better at being approved if you choose a conference that is close to your location. Please research conferences and events nearby prior to submitting applications. Note that travel grant requests for one-day events in other countries are generally not approved. The cost between international travel for a one-day event and travel for a multi-day event is usually not much different, and it is difficult to justify a significant expenditure for a one-day event which requires international travel. A full list of local user groups can be found here: https://www.postgresql.org/community/user-groups/ A full list of events endorsed by the PostgreSQL Global Development Group that would be eligible for attendance can be found here: https://www.postgresql.org/about/events/ Other conferences and events may be approved on a case-by-case basis, taking into account how attending would relate to PostgreSQL. Because we have a fixed amount of funds available, we generally are not able to make more than one grant per year to any one person. We will consider exceptional circumstances, such as being selected as a speaker for two events, but as a practical matter, you should apply first for the event which is the most significant for your career development. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

We believe one of the best parts about #PostgreSQL is it's extensibility (although there is a lot to be celebrated about this incredibly robust #RDBMS!). As a result, we're avid fans of supporting #OpenSource development.

One such project we support is #CitusData - an extension from Microsoft that's great for managing distributed PostgreSQL instances at scale. Learn more about it in the latest Postgres Café episode from #Xata + Data Bene:

At Data Bene, we are proud supporters of and contributors to Citus Data, a robust open-source extension from Microsoft that helps you accelerate deploying distributed PostgreSQL clusters. Learn more in our new Postgres Café blog and video series.

Turns out #Xata export timestamps to CSV, in a format that it can't then import it. Which... Is a massive pain.
This isn't a huge problem, but will have to solve that...
