It seems that even the latest version of #ClaudeCode has a bug around handling encrypted PDFs using its read tool. It gets wedged asking for the password forever.

I wanted to add mine & just two more blogs from ppl I knew to Kagi's small web: https://blog.kagi.com/small-web

It was a ridiculous amount of effort to find people I who I knew to be bloggers, and still had a blog that has been updated in the last year. Most blogs are dead or moved to walled gardens

Kagi Blog - Kagi Small Web

As a part of our ongoing pursuit to humanize the web, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Kagi Small Web initiative. What is Kagi Small Web? To begin with, while there is no...

#ClaudeCode 2.1.94 has changed the default effort level to high for api users and others. This can blow up reasoning token usage. Reduce if unexpected else 💸

Thought I should start blogging a bit more frequently. Today's post started off a quote I read in today's WP #AI newletter, about the toxic combination of AI agents and trading and AI social web like #Moltbook.

Social media crashed a bank in a day, agents will do it before we wake up | sandipb.net

If social media accelerated bank runs from days to hours, agentic AI will accelerate financial panics from hours to minutes — and for 24/7-traded assets, there's no closing bell to stop the cascade.

A New Oil Shock Accelerates a Return to Nuclear Power

Shocks to natural gas supplies are spurring countries in Asia and elsewhere to rethink their rejection of nuclear energy after the 2011 disaster in Fukushima, Japan.

A #ClaudeCode skill/plugin and #Codex plugin that makes agent talk like caveman — cutting ~75% of output tokens while keeping full technical accuracy. Plus a companion tool that compresses your memory files to cut ~45% of input tokens every session.

Based on the viral observation that caveman-speak dramatically reduces LLM token usage without losing technical substance.

Funny thing is that the people who are funding this war, the American people, are going to be as much screwed by this like the rest of the world, as fuel prices are global

The only way the impact can be lessened on American people is by direct fuel subsidy or, shudder oil nationalization. Which is so unlikely, that I expect gun control to be solved in US before oil nationalization can happen. :)

With #USA-#Israel blowing up Iranian oil, #Iran blowing up the rest of the oil of middle east, and then #Ukraine blowing up #Russian oil ... what an irony about how the fossil fuel #ClimateChange fix is actually going to come about, and by the people least expected to do it. Kudos all around.

This is what I admired about Germans when I lived there.

I don’t understand the logic of the author. Can a society run by rules which are optional and subject to individual judgement about whether they are applicable?

Do Americans have a choice of not stopping at stop signs because the streets look empty?
