What is a👻of line on RAT you ask? These tests expired 1/2023 & they still work which means… people don’t know how to test themselves

Also, I’m back to the belief #viralDose is not as pertinent to the viscousness of the #sarscov2 infection over all since my spouse got a teeny amount compared to the amount I was exposed to…& we were both in equally bad shape, him worse at times?

altho hard to be💯certain as my test is weaker but feel quite horrendous & he appears better..

anywhose…🤷🏻‍♀️👻meandering💭

Infectivity of exhaled #SARSCoV2 #aerosols is sufficient to transmit #covid19 within minutes

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-47829-8

Although just published today, this is from Feb-March 2021, 7 months before the very first #omicron that was more infectious & 12-16 months prior to super infectious BA.5

So… my guess is, one can get enough infectious dose with 1-2 inhales. We are truly down to mere seconds #viralDose

& nearly nobody cares

Yeah, I’m not waiting for science studies for confirmation of what I’ve already known for years now

Infectivity of exhaled SARS-CoV-2 aerosols is sufficient to transmit covid-19 within minutes - Scientific Reports

Exhaled SARS-CoV-2-containing aerosols contributed significantly to the rapid and vast spread of covid-19. However, quantitative experimental data on the infectivity of such aerosols is missing. Here, we quantified emission rates of infectious viruses in exhaled aerosol from individuals within their first days after symptom onset from covid-19. Six aerosol samples from three individuals were culturable, of which five were successfully quantified using TCID50. The source strength of the three individuals was highest during singing, when they exhaled 4, 36, or 127 TCID50/s, respectively. Calculations with an indoor air transmission model showed that if an infected individual with this emission rate entered a room, a susceptible person would inhale an infectious dose within 6 to 37 min in a room with normal ventilation. Thus, our data show that exhaled aerosols from a single person can transmit covid-19 to others within minutes at normal indoor conditions.

Evidence of leaky protection following #COVID19 #vaccination and #SARSCoV2 infection in an incarcerated population | #Nature

For those of us who still care this is a significant #CovidPapers

Had the closest run-in since July 2022, altho perhaps due to 4x #Novavax it was more pleasant & far less dramatic than last summer.

It was pretty interesting I must say. Exposed Tues night, had sore throat Wed AM started losing my hearing Wed PM in left ear.. forced myself to over sleep Wed & Thurs. Was all better including ear by Saturday AM

Had usual bad cold symptoms & it was absolutely definitely a beginning of Covid infection. I’ve never had hearing affected in my life so that was scary

My spouse has always followed this pattern when exposed & we quarantine him, except he’s more #asymptomatic but I look & listen like a hawk & it’s followed this timeline too. From moment of exposure, 24-48 hours is crucial in what you do

Ofcourse none of this matters if your #viralDose is too high, but masks work. Iota carageenan nasal spray works. Vitamins, nutrition, sleep & hydrogen peroxide gargle are all helpful too

It’s going to be a sh*tshow of a winter is all I’ll say #wearAMask #HEPA #Novavax

Evidence of leaky protection following COVID-19 vaccination and SARS-CoV-2 infection in an incarcerated population - Nature Communications

Measuring an individual’s level of exposure to COVID-19 is challenging, and it is therefore unclear whether high exposure may impact immunity. Here, the authors investigate this question using data from a correctional facility in Connecticut, USA, by comparing rates of infection in people who share cells, cellblocks, and with no known exposure.

miss many voices that aren’t here.. still use
as a morning🗞️ 📰but refuse to post links to it.. which is why i take screenshots, collage them in PSExpress app & post here

It’s pretty wild #XBB116 has surfaced in only a week

Even #covidAware don’t know about the time for #viralDose & had i not had countless near misses, wouldn’t believe it myself

mere secs is truly actually here which is why this makes me🤬😡😠 #michaelMina

#saponins #science
No #vaccine protects very well from #XBB116 but if you #wearADamnRespirator #HEPA #nasalSpray + #Novavax

IMHO you’ll have a fighting chance since it’s a free for all #covidZombieApocalypse

An N95/99 respirator alone, unless it’s an elastomeric or #microclimateAir2 + #KF94 in tandem, IS NOT ENOUGH for a #variant that can be caught🚫😷in<30 seconds

Unless you signed up for the #alwaysInfected plan… that’s how long it takes #viralDose

The biological action of saponins in animal systems: a review - PubMed

Saponins are steroid or triterpenoid glycosides, common in a large number of plants and plant products that are important in human and animal nutrition. Several biological effects have been ascribed to saponins. Extensive research has been carried out into the membrane-permeabilising, immunostimulan …

Also, if he thinks we are in a better place now in the #pandemic than we were before…

well then i have a bridge to sell you!

#acuteInfection isn’t the primary issue & also w/ prior #variants it took 10-15 minutes instead of.. 10-15 seconds #viralDose #inhalation

#reinfection is weakening #immuneSystem #tcells & destroying organs & #covid has mutated in 3 yrs MORE than #influenza in 15 years

I HAVE ZERO SCIENCE yet can fully understand this but #Osterholm is like “how did this happen to me?”🤦🏻‍♀️

@edyong209
Have SF people always been so flakey? Was i that flakey? Probs
15 yrs #NYC has def changed me..along w/ insane experiences

NUANCE? I’ll give you nuance 🤬🤬
Mask mandates give cover to people who don’t want to stick out

Masks are a source control even if worn improperly they limit #sarscov2 lingering in the air

Instead of this BS a #PSA on proper😷-ing should be shown

It no longer takes 10-15 minutes to reach appropriate #viralDose inhalation

more like 10 seconds+\-

@mel1 @TACTNowinfo These arguments infuriate me
b/c there is a touch of truth in them, but it’s used in bad faith

Yes I absolutely believe in strengthening your immune system #vaccines #vitamins #etc & to a certain degree you can indeed fight off a #sarscov2 from infecting you assuming the #viralDose is low enough

But these motherf£%ers are claiming exposing yourself to a #BSL3 pathogen on the regular should be welcomed, which is a complete BS #excuseMyFrench

@ZeroCovidColin @trendless
@yaneerbaryam & @masknerd explained it to me (Spaces recording is gone unfortunately) & i noticed in July 2022 there was a dramatic change in how long i could personally be in #Covid saturated air before exhibiting exposure symptoms. I was lucky enough to have not inhaled enough #viralDose but have been even more careful since

What I will definitely agree is if we ALL wore the damn mask, we would be MUCH safer

It’s a🚰🦠🦠 otherwise

https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsnano.0c03252#
This study is interesting b/c it points out that the tiniest gap in your #N95 can cause it to lose up to 60% efficacy, virtually making it useless in 2023 when #sarscov2 is extremely transmissible

We used to get 10-15 min approx of🚫😷but now #viralDose transmits in far less than 60 sec…10-20 secs? #idk but it’s short

This means #N95 even properly sealed less effective too b/c captures at max 97%
That 3% allows some🦠in🤷🏻‍♀️
My estimate is you get about 1.2 hrs in highly⬇️
