After I discovered my #tourettes I almost thought I was accidentally faking around others.

My tics would get more frequent, almost like I was trying to show off, not made better by several cruel people saying the same thing.

I realized it was due to being embarrassed, and stressed out by strangers, both of which increase the frequency of my tics. Especially if people started looking at me.

Once I made this connection I was able to let go of that.

I am starting to wonder if I have a #ticdisorder that #science and #medicine hasn't even discovered yet.

Because I have #symptoms that I describe to my #doctor and #therapist about my #tourettesyndrome (which is about as bad as you could have and still function somewhat normally in working environments) they have never heard of anywhere.

That I also cannot find any #info for

I have only ever seen them in my mom, my brother and my grandpa.

I'm a #science project.

Are there any other TicTacs out there?

With that I mean everyone with a
#ticdisorder such as #tourettessyndrome

My teenage son has loud throat-clearing and snort/sniff tics.

We are getting on a plane to travel from Perth to Melbourne today. It would be nice not to have to announce to those around us that they are tics and not contagious but the sharply-turned heads and glares will make me anxious. Wish I could just ignore them.

Also, we wear masks and maybe they should too.

#Tourettes: Honk if you love Jesus!

Me: .... ... what? No. We are NOT going to be a terrible Christian bumper sticker, thank you!!

#longCovid #ticdisorder #tourettes In the first 2020 lockdown, I developed a tic disorder very much like Tourette's, which is extremely unusual for someone in their 40s. It eventually resolved itself for some times before coming back in flare ups. But it's not just tics, it's also affecting my speech and cognition. I discovered by accident that over the counter antihistamines offer relief, but at many times the daily recommended dose. Anyone out there experiencing the same?
