On the Eve of My Independence
Tomorrow is Monday, March 16. Tomorrow, I officially walk into the clinic and start my new job as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
After four months, eight relocations, and surviving a system rigidly designed to make disabled people fail, I have finally reached the starting line. I survived.
This week was kinda quiet on the mutual aid front. I was able to get groceries and pay some necessary bills (like my phone), though, and amazing person dropped $100 into the GFM, bringing our final rent gap down to exactly $723.
I am literally 24 hours away from stepping into my first full-time job in six years. I just need to hold onto this apartment until my first paycheck arrives.
If you have been waiting for the right moment to help, today is the day. Let's close this final $723 gap so I can go to work tomorrow knowing that Riko and my sanctuary are completely secure. 💜

And truly, to those who have shown support, shared, or donated, thank you for believing in me when I struggled to. Thank you for seeing me to this moment.
I'll keep reporting on the growing good news. 😸
