My Anova sous vide cooker stick thing is no longer heating the water, just circulating. I don't see any mechanical issues with it, I de-scaled and cleaned the heating element anyway and still no dice. Did the whole hold down button to reset and all that. I bought it used but new in box (worked fine for a year) so I don't know what the warranty situation would be like.

Anyway, I have some film chemicals that I need to use up quickly so I asked my friend if he had one I could borrow.

It's good to be known so well by your friends that the app disclaimer was provided without being asked. But good grief! You need an app from Breville to even set a temperature, not like fancy cooking cycles (fair enough) but just to say "make water hot", it's sole purpose 🤬

My daughter came to me today saying she needed to install MS Outlook on her Android phone. I was confused, because she already had Gmail.

I ended up having to explain that you can send email from Gmail to MS Outlook, despite the fact that they're different programmes. And realised myself that very few things are like that nowadays.

In between contractor consults we did something huge. Something… Earth shattering. Not for us, but for the cats.

We have replaced the two litter boxes with one new box. The Earth shattering part? It’s a self cleaning, automatic litter box thing.

It has an app. A litter box app. Literally a shit app. It told us that one of the cats has used the box. Based on weight we are guessing it was Robin. 

We are going to know everything about our two cats’ bathroom behaviors.

Like I said, Earth shattering.

Our dishwasher came with these plastic clip-on shelves for longer utensils. We didn't need them at first, so I stashed them away.

Recently I bought some new utensils that don't fit in cutlery basket, so I retrieved the plastic doodads, and went to see the manual to see how they go in.

While at it, I discovered that the mystery object I also stashed away was actually the funnel for the salt receptacle.

And here I was free-handing the pour like a barbarian 😩
