Language is one of the ways we think about the real world; texts and programs are manifestations of such world-models produced by our brains. They are often descriptive, utilitarian or aim to convince, captivate or entertain the reader.

Large language models are mathematical models of these. They do not model the real world, only how we think of the world. They are also pretty good at convincing us. Are we deceiving ourselves?
