Long post. As a thank you for reading and boosting my musings on Day 1, I've attached a #Midjourney image I created from the prompt, "Starting where the client is." (actually I didn't because after waiting 10 minutes for the image to attach I gave up).

Day 1 on Mastodon has been more miss than hit.

1. My server was down most of the times I tried to hop on via mobile or desktop.
2. Really hard to find people to follow by looking at other account's followers because they are on different servers. Clicking through to the different servers was a crap shoot because they were either down or deemed risky by Malwarebytes.
3. Trojan warnings popped up for two different servers (didn't proceed).
4. The feed refreshes REALLY fast, making it difficult to read the posts.
5. It takes a long time to attach images to posts.
6. As much as I dislike curated, algorithm informed feeds, it is also really boring to read a bunch of posts that I have no interest in.

The hits:
1. Good to see #SWTech and #socialwork Twitter friends on the platform.
2. Fun to see NEW PLATFORM dynamics play out again.

What am I missing here @socialwork?

If you are a #socialworker on this platform, follow and tag @socialwork which will reshare your content to circulate to other sw subscribers. Also note that your content can not be searched (by design) unless you use a hashtag. On Twitter for a long time we used #swtech for social work tech content.

Hey y'all! Allow me to reintroduce myself. I'm a #socialwork podcaster, clinician, researcher and educator. I've been publishing an irregularly scheduled podcast since 2007. My scholarship focuses on youth suicide prevention, and the intersection of social worker and technology #SWTech. TIL how to spell Mastodon (only one "a" - who knew???).
