Spotted yesterday: woodlouse spider (dysdera sp.) also known as baked bean spider, which I rather like.

I submitted to iRecord as d. crocata but this got an “awaiting review” response as the similarity to d. erythrina makes it difficult to identify except by expert under magnification. Also, neither recorded in my area (but close by).

They have formidable “fangs” which can be painful if they bite you, but not a big problem. It was on my glove 😬

I think of this _Larinioides_ colouration as "white chocolate". The spiders in this genus I see in my area range from almost black to grey to orange-brown to peach to beige to, like this one, almost white.

found another pair of mating leaf-curling sac spiders (family Clubionidae)!

The bubble-like thing in the first picture is the haematodocha, a sac in the male's palpal bulb that inflates to change the orientation/shape of the pedipalp to allow it to lock in to the female's convoluted genital opening.

The local spiders have been busy. Very busy.
