all public mission timings that I’ve seen are only given in EDT, which is annoying af – I know that #NASA uses UTC as their canonical time standard for all mission timings but I guess they see themselves as mostly communicating publicly to a US audience so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (yeah, yeah, their tax dollars, whatev)

We Installed a GIANT Space Dome on a Mountain!

We drove from Melbourne to Toowoomba… via Coonabarabran (because apparently we can’t help turning a dome install into a full-blown road trip).

Stopped in Coonabarabran for a site visit on a future project — then headed to Mt Kent Observatory to install a brand new 4m Scopedome.

There were telescopes, late nights, too many servo pies, and one absolutely massive dome. Just another casual week in astro-land. 🔭🛻🌌

Last one that really needs a mention for #TuneTuesday‘s theme #SciFiSongs is the band Public Service Broadcasting, not metal, but pure prog, utilising real sounds from archived recordings to tell story, this album documents the #SpaceRace including an homage to the fatal incident of #Apollo1. It is a great listen for #spaceNerds and #progNerds alike.
