South Korea’s real estate lending fell for a third straight quarter—the first such streak since 2008—as banks tightened credit amid a sluggish property market, while service sector loans surged and construction lending continued to contract.
The Bank of Korea reports a post-pandemic slowdown in South Korea’s service sector productivity, urging export expansion through manufacturing-service convergence and regulatory reform.
Quibble with the numbers if you want, but orders of magnitude are most likely correct:
"According to NAFSA: Association of International Educators, these 1.1 million international students at U.S. colleges and universities contributed $43.8 billion to the U.S. economy during the 2023-2024 academic year and supported more than 378,000 jobs."

Orange Menace has no concept of service sector exports. Higher ed is a big service export from the U.S. — we educate and provide the diplomas, others (so many from abroad) provide the cash (lots!) 🙄
Oh well, never mind. Now stand in line and apply for that manufacturing job to make buggy whips! 🙃
