The last Meeting of Term was Pizza Making Night at Cubs.

But I started by investing 2 of them in our Pack.

I’ve run this activity before, and I learned from that time. It worked better this time, but still needs some work.

But the Cubs once again enjoyed it, and that’s what matters.

There were gifts for the Leaders at the start. Unexpected, but gratefully received. Two of us got paracord woggles (the gold/yellow one in the photo) and I got some chocolates (which I attempted to share with the other Leaders but they didn’t accept).

Understanding PTSD: What Scouts Should Know

Scouting teaches us to be prepared, helpful, and kind. One important part of being a responsible Scout and citizen is understanding mental health. One condition that affects many people—especially those who have experienced trauma—is called PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). Learning about PTSD helps Scouts build empathy, recognize when someone may need support, and understand how important it is to treat others with respect and care. What Is PTSD? PTSD is a mental health condition […]

It was the last Beavers of the current Term.

We did Viking Catapults. I’ve done this activity twice at Cubs but, although some fun was had, the catapults themselves weren't working anything like as well as I’d like. As a result it wasn’t as fun for the Beavers.

As such I’m going to have to experiment and find how to get them to reliably fire, as it was sapping the fun when they were regularly going virtually nowhere.

"Hier fährt also eher keiner Rad."

Erfolgreiches Scouting :o)

It was the last Scout Meeting of the Term, and the end of an era. Our Scout Section are moving night next Term.

We ended with Geocaching.

They split into groups and used the provided map and What3Words to find the caches our Scout Team Leader had distributed around a local woodland.

My group were going like the clappers and I was certainly kept on my toes trying to keep up. They were joint winners, locating 9 out of the 10 caches and we were first* back to the agreed meet-up point around the agreed time.

We were very fortunate with the weather, 2 hours earlier it was heavy rain showers.

Certainly tested my new walking boots for comfort and dryness. They were very comfy and my feet were as dry as you’d hope for.

There were hotdogs for a supper before we left…just needed to find the equipment crate first. 😆

Enjoyable night for all that attended.

(*Not counting YLs who weren’t searching for caches.)
