Haven't been on my bike recently for good reason. Thank you kind strangers, thank you transit. http://bikestylespokane.com/2024/01/27/thank-heavens-for-kind-strangers-and-transit/

I've started looking for peer reviewed studies that leverage #industrialecology methods to compare the true cost of different mobility modes. This should include federal and state subsidies, including those to fossil fuels, reasonably distributing road infrastructure subsidies across modes, assessing vehicle subsidies, and quantifying economic impact and other metrics.
I've been unsuccessful at finding anything that frames the discussion around how much society is spending on different modes. I want something that avoids divisive discussions and minimizes subjective opinion. Something that takes a cost/benefit analysis approach.
Any references or leads on studies like this? Does anyone agree that there is a gap in research on subsidies across mobility modes? Is this a useful concept to pitch to #TRB?
At the couple transit folks I'm aware of here: @humantransit @DrTCombs #transit #publictransit #visionzero #ridethebus #rail #train
