Rekindle

If you are one of the many people with older Kindle E-readers that Amazon stopped supporting, there is a web service called Rekindle, with a dashboard of services to show you and your Kindle some love.

I wish more e-readers made it easier to style web content for them. It would be a lot easier to make something this nice looking.

Still a little obsessed with old Java applets. I guess it's a #SpecialInterest. 

Anyway, I finished reverse-engineering the data format for the METAR viewer applet this morning. Then I started thinking about some other applets I'd come across in the past, and I remembered an old LED-style scroller applet.

I've taken a crack at preserving #NCAR 's Java METAR viewer, which is miraculously still up-and-running after all these years. Some reverse engineering of how it ingests data is probably still needed.
