shoutout to anubis - it's the open source software we use on our sites to stop ai bots from scraping the content on our sites. it works by forcing the computer to work out a big ol' mathematical equation. this doesn't prove that you're human, but does use up resources that bots would rather use to keep scraping - this obstacle makes them abort the process and move onto another site that doesn't have anubis installed. it's pretty neat, and is working very well for us! #oldweb #indieweb

I remember stumbling across RSS a *lot* in the mid 00's and being grumpy about it / not fully understanding its power, but after this vid and realizing what feed readers could achieve, I never looked back.
