@ohno Try watching this video, years ago I asked myself the same question and maybe, instead of buying more hardware (with all the related issues), we can perhaps use things we already partially have or invest better in higher value products rather than in some kind of scanner. For the software, I have never used it for this purpose but maybe between rawtherapee and darktable they can handle negatives.

The relay has been reduced to its minimum of dependencies, but remains necessary. Currently, only https://holos.social exists.

You could host a relay in a different region (currently Europe). The goal is not to have one big relay with smaller ones around it.

Over the years I’ve tried many #Linux distros, mostly Debian and derivatives for my needs. Also tried Arch-based rolls, but they weren’t for me: too many updates/downloads. LTS releases keep software too outdated for my taste. In the last 2 years I’ve found a great balance with #Fedora #KDE: core packages stay reasonably up to date, with a major refresh every 6 months rather than 2 years. Ideal for my daily use and gaming via Heroic (Steam when needed). Clean, tidy and very pleasant to use.

Apple M1 CPU is a small rectangle with about 1.1cm of each side - nail size.

Its crazy that a Titan 80-300 TEM (or similar) microscope can actually zoom that much - that you can literally see the size of 5nm process - in which Apple M1 has been produced ... crazy.
