Another great find from earlier in the week.

This is actually a reissue of Fred Neil’s stellar SELF-TITLED second album. Why they decided to rename it I have no clue.
I actually have an original 1966 Capitol pressing, and I bought this because I thought it was something different. 😂
Regardless, this sounds a lot cleaner and nicer than my ‘66.

Fred Neil was an incredible and UNDERRATED songwriter and performer, and to this day, it still amazes me that most people still think that “Everybody’s Talkin’” (known from the film Midnight Cowboy) is a Harry Nilsson song.
FRED wrote it, & I much prefer his recording.

Part of Fred’s lack of fame comes from his distaste for touring, and he decided he’d rather spend the rest of his life preserving dolphins. 🐬

These songs are phenomenal.
If you’re unfamiliar with Fred, I plead that you explore his work.

Another long week in the books.
My wife and son are away from the jungle for two days, so I’m going to do nothing but play loud music until they return. And it will be done whilst wearing no pants.

This is the perfect thing to get the festivities going; four of the most badass bitches of all time, and a band I was lucky enough to see live at the 1994 Lollapalooza.

This is a great sounding collection of all of their major label slayers, courtesy of Run Out Groove, who in my experience buying their records, have ALWAYS sounded great.

One of my favorite #newwave albums ever, and another artist that I think is mistakenly referred to as a “one hit wonder” band.

A hit is a hit, regardless of where you have it, and “99 Luftballons” aside, the band had many more recognizable hits in Europe.

Yes, that song is great.
But so is “Lechtturm”, as well as “Just A Dream”. The whole album is just SO fun and infectious.

This Canadian version has a bit of a different track listing, a different cover, and English translation titles. It also came out a year AFTER the original 1983 European issues.

Who knew Germans could be so fun?
Go figure.
