Joining a new instance, posting a new #introduction.
After three years in the Fediverse, including two wonderful years at https://fediscience.org/@fresseng, I’m joining the first French instance that is both dedicated to and hosted by the academic community.
Academic and physicist, I also dabble in politics.
I will be posting about #openscience #fairdata #freesoftware #foss #CoARA #researchassesment #scientificintegrity #digitalinfrastructure ... and #Fediverse

"A Practical Guide to Implementing Responsible Research Assessment at Research Performing Organizations" provides action-oriented guidance, resources, and illustrative examples, for research performing organizations (RPOs) who are looking to shape and deliver responsible research assessment (RRA) practices. This includes RPOs who are looking to create an RRA strategy, organizations wanting to reform existing practices, and organizations simply wanting to take steps towards more holistic and inclusive approaches to research assessment. One approach to research assessment certainly does not fit all, so the Guide is intended to be an inspirational tool. It is discipline-agnostic, flexible, and is intended to be adaptable to diverse organizational and disciplinary contexts by users. We envision the Practical Guide being modified and updated over time - and especially being enriched with real examples and through feedback from research performing organizations as they start to use it. The Practical Guide has been co-developed especially with interest holders who met January 31, 2025 in Maryland, USA, whose valuable contributions we thank. We also thank the helpful feedback from DORA Steering Committee Members Sean Sapcariu and Bernd Pulverer. We are grateful to Janet Catterall for her help in compiling and organizing the references and supporting resources mentioned in the Guide. The Practical Guide has been created as part of Project TARA and, alongside Reformscape, the Building Blocks for Impact, and the Debiasing Committee Composition, forms a suite of tools designed to help organizations who are seeking to reform research assessment practices. Project TARA is supported by Arcadia, a family charitable foundation that helps people to record cultural heritage, to conserve and restore nature, and to promote open access to knowledge, whom we thank. Since 2002 Arcadia has awarded more than $1.2 billion to organizations around the world. This publication is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial CC BY-NC. The publication of the European Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment (ARRA) in July 2022 is the latest, perhaps most high profile, attempt to date to steer research systems towards reform of how individuals, proposals and organizations are recognized and rewarded. While calls for reform are internationally-oriented in scope, not all countries, regions and organizations have moved with equal speed or enthusiasm to enact this agenda and there are uncertainties about what such change processes entail. This special session focuses on implementation of reforms within four ‘early adopter’ institutions from the Netherlands and Finland – where a national reform program exists – as well as Denmark and Italy. Speakers in the session have been involved in implementing reforms locally within their own research performing organizations (RPO). We will hear about the process they have gone through, opportunities and frictions they encountered and lessons learnt about resources and infrastructure needed to support such efforts. Being among the first movers in this space, their insights will provide valuable points for discussion, debate and learning for institutions and members of the STI community to engage with ARRA. The hybrid session was chaired by Janne Pölönen (Federation of Finnish Learned Societies) and Alex Rushforth (Leiden University), with a short introduction and Q&A discussion with the audience. Speakers included Sarah de Rijcke (Leiden University), Laura Niemi (University of Turku), Birger Larsen (University of Aalborg) and Francesca di Donato (National Research Council of Italy).

As promised, here is the presentation on NWO's Evidence Based CV - version 0.9
https://zenodo.org/record/7467250#.Y6Lg0FO0szQ
It presents a view of the road we travelled and shows the almost finished concept version of the updated cv format.
I was supposed to present it at the Lorentz Center last week, but wasn't able to due to health issues. However, it was shared amongst participants.
I've still not fully recovered, but wanted to share the presentation anyway.
A presentation for the workshop 'Curricula vitae as reproductive interfaces in research' at Lorentz Center, Leiden, held from 12 to 16 December 2022. The presentation offers a first view of the newest iteration of the narrative CV format used by the Dutch Research Council NWO in its Talent Programme. 21/12/2022: New version uploaded.
