Gadgetbridge is a free and open source Android application that allows you to pair and manage various gadgets such as smart watches, bands, headphones, and more without the need for the vendor application. So in short, you can use Gadgetbridge instead of relying on your gadget's own proprietary app. – […]https://andreas-moor.de/das-xiaomi-smart-band-10-mit-gadgetbridge-koppeln-unter-fedora-linux/

i like how in #esperanto FOSS licenses specifically are called "permesilo(j)", rather than "licenco(j)"
the former literally means "something that permits", which fits well, given that open-source licenses give the user extra rights, whereas proprietary EULAs usually take the user's existing rights away

No better way to spend my second Easter day than testing new beta versions of three SDF modeling tools… 😁👍
1. The next version of @sascharode1986's free SDF Modeler will have a text primitive, and you will be able to choose any True Type font, including glyph / wingdings fonts, adding quite some possible extruded 2D shapes to your SDF modeling arsenal. 👍

You've got the apps, we've got the showcase: Speak at the Linux App Summit!
Calling all Linux app developers! Come to Berlin and show your apps to the world at the @LAS 2026.

Just read that Fedora is now available to Syrians due to changes in US restrictions. There's a Wiki page from Fedora about "Embargoed nations" (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Embargoed_nations), which reads:
"This page addresses restrictions on embargoed nations, groups, and individuals as a result of US federal law. The legal risks and responsibilities of the Fedora Project are assumed by Red Hat, Inc. as our primary sponsor. Because Red Hat is a US-based commercial entity, it must abide by all laws and regulations of the US, along with its other responsibilities. Therefore, the Fedora Project is bound by these laws and regulations as well".
What I read here: Red Hat owns Fedora. Yeah, the company with ties to genocide and the US-Israel military-industrial complex (https://www.is-boycott.com/en/c/red-hat).
There are way better options than this, no matter how much community-driven the distro is.
