I've just realised that today is a public holiday in NZ. The news felt quiet as did our local Mastodon server, so I asked Duck Duck Go "Is it a public holiday in NZ today?" and it lied to me.
I found the correct answer on a NZ Govt site. While ANZAC day is the 25th, it's being celebrated today, Monday 27th. Not only is DDG deluded about today being a public holiday, including getting today's date wrong, but it insists that the "next" public holiday will be two days ago.
I can remember when search engines tended to be based in reality.
