There are several countries that have postal voting by request available to citizens, including America's neighbour Canada, it beggars belief that some americans are so stupid they actually believe Trump.

#postalvoting

"Reform UK leader Nigel Farage voted by post."

Your occasional reminder that any time Farage and his attack puppets start banging on about the iniquity of anything you don't have to look far to find Nigel benefiting from it. Sadly, his fan base don't care and just lap up his Poundland Trump antics regardless of the potential impact on their lives.

Voters go to the polls across UK in general election

Polls are open until 22:00 BST as millions of people cast their votes in the general election.

BBC News

The expansion of criteria for postal voting eligibility hasn't been flagged up to people sufficiently since the Electoral Reform Act 2022 was passed. At this stage with doctor's and employer's certs to get signed in only 1 day it's really too late for most. I think that's a failure the Electoral Commission might want to reflect on.

TIL voice voting is now available for those who are physically unable to mark a voting paper themselves. You need to register for this, by phoning 0800 028 028 (Vote.nz / Electoral Commission)

However, for those who are physically unable / unwise to attend a polling station to vote in person, you can get someone to collect your voting papers for you. Phone 0800 36 76 56 (Vote.nz / Electoral Commission)
If that is not an option that works for you, contact your local Electorate Manager, who is able to arrange #PostalVoting papers, upon noting your reason. Your Electorate Office details should be in your #EasyVote pack, and can be found here:
https://vote.nz/2023-general-election/get-help-to-vote/contact-your-electorate-manager/

Getting onto the Electorate Manager was easy, after a long, unnecessary run-around from Electoral Commission (four calls later…). Information on vote.nz is not that terrific for disabled voters.
