La UVigo ha establecido el primer protocolo para criopreservar un gusano marino que forma parte de la fauna de las rías gallegas y cuya utilización como modelo para estudios de neurociencia, desarrollo y biología evolutiva va en aumento en todo el mundo. El logro es fruto de la colaboración entre investigadoras del Centro de Investigación Mariña (CIM) y expertos del Max Perutz Labs (Universidad de Viena) que cuentan con un biobanco de la especie Platynereis dumerilii para sus trabajos.
