NEW | U.S. approves $25.8 billion arms package to regional allies amid escalating tensions
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio approved $25.8 billion in emergency weapons sales to Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, triple the $8.6 billion initially disclosed, according to Bloomberg.
The package includes large quantities of Patriot missile interceptors, though deliveries are expected to take years due to limited U.S. production capacity.
The special envoy of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Saadullah Baloch, met with the ambassador of Kuwait in Jakarta, Indonesia, to discuss bilateral relations and other matters.
The Afghan embassy in Jakarta stated on its X (formerly Twitter) page that during the meeting, both sides discussed the development of bilateral economic and political relations, as well as regional and international cooperation.
Furthermore, the meeting also included a discussion about reopening the Afghan embassy in Kuwait, and the Kuwaiti side emphasized the continued cooperation and coordination in this regard.
