Analysts have said the group is now more diverse than previous ones, with a higher representation from Asia, Africa, and Latin America, "reflecting Francis' goal of mirroring the Church's global reach". The name of Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana has been floated by some observers. The 76-year-old cardinal is widely known for his "deep commitment to social justice, peacebuilding, and environmental stewardship, key themes that have also been central to Pope Francis's papacy". The Archbishop of the Abuja Diocese of Nigeria, Ignatius Kaigama, agreed that an African Cardinal ought to have the same chance as Cardinals from other parts of the world; but noted that "we are praying for a good and holy Pope who can be black, Asian, American, European".
