The professors that will evaluate my master’s presentation were just posted.
First thing I did was ask my father if he knows any of them.
I’ve learned I should just assume he knows every technology professor in the country.

Tänä vuonna Finfarin perinteikkään pro gradu -kilpailun voiton vei Tampereen yliopiston kirjallisuustieteestä valmistunut Sandra Sulkanen tutkielmallaan ”Me-kerronnan välittämä toiminta, kokemus, eetos ja ideologia The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -videopelin sisäisessä kirjallisuudessa”. 200 euron kannustuspalkinto jaettiin tänä vuonna jo kahdeksatta kertaa.

– Wer diskriminiert? Mitstudierende oder Lehrende?
– Intersektionale Unterschiede: Frauen vs. Migrant*innen
– Uni vs. FH – Unterschiede im Hochschultyp erkennbar?
– EU-Vergleich mit anderen Bildungsdaten

The concept of reproducibility has long been a cornerstone in scientific research, ensuring that results are robust, repeatable, and can be independently verified. This concept has been extended to computer science, focusing on the ability to recreate identical software artefacts. However, the importance of reproducibility in software engineering is often overlooked, leading to challenges in the validation, security, and reliability of software products. This master's thesis aims to investigate the current state of reproducibility in software engineering, exploring both the barriers and potential solutions to making software more reproducible and raising awareness. It identifies key factors that impede reproducibility such as inconsistent environments, lack of standardisation, and incomplete documentation. To tackle these issues, I propose an empirical comparison of tools facilitating software reproducibility. To provide a comprehensive assessment of reproducibility in software engineering, this study adopts a methodology that involves a hands-on evaluation of four different methods and tools. Through a systematic evaluation of these tools, this research seeks to determine their effectiveness in establishing and maintaining identical software environments and builds. This study contributes to academic knowledge and offers practical insights that could influence future software development protocols and standards.
I'm doing my #MastersThesis on #PhysicsEducation, and I can confidently say that a huge part of what turns so many people away from #physics is that, especially at the #intro level, #classes aren't designed to interrogate #concepts and tie them together as much as to teach lists of #equations to memorize.
Intro #mechanics mostly covers four concepts: Newton's Second Law and the three #conservation laws. Starting from there would greatly reduce the mental load.
Writing his #MastersThesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was not a given for our Master's student Nektarios Totikos. Learn more about what got him so far and his research on #EmotionRecognition: http://go.tum.de/325709
