I needed an hammer and a mallet. I am poor and couldn't afford the prices in the hardware stores, so I bought it online.

They were both delivered moments ago and I've already put in return requests.

The hammering surface on the hammer isnt smooth or contiguous, and the mallet is tiny despite claims, and smells like cancer.

Note to self:
When you install a dozen HDDs in a server with drive trays without indicators, it might be a good idea to write down which drive with which serial number is installed in what slot.
I just had to unscrew 5 of 14 HDDs to find the right one to remove!!

It's a gentle film, but let's just say swearing plays a central part in the story. Watched it again on Netflix, heard all the bad words. 😎

I have a rule: do not #repair anything sensitive/expensive when I'm #tired.

I broke this rule with my little sibling's #laptop because I couldn't tell I was tired, so much I:
1. forgot to disconnect the battery
2. forgot to power off the laptop
3. my hands were really shaky and I shorted something

It's dead. This was a pricey mistake I didn't need to make.

Let this be a reminder for others to not make the same mistakes and that it's easy to underestimate your tiredness.

I am so annoyed at Past Me for not keeping an accurate timeline as I wrote. Creating and matching a timeline during revisions is finicky, annoying work.
