Here are some of my #photo #highlights from my train 🚄 and bus 🚍 journey last autumn! 😃 I traveled in #Switzerland, #Sweden, #Austria, #Germany, #Estonia, #Lithuania and #Poland.

I can definitely recommend travelling in Europe without flying – in the climate-friendly way! 🌍 If you're traveling more than ca 3 days I can highly recommend using an #InterRail pass - for more flexibility. I'm happy to share my knowledge and experiences if you have any doubts or questions!

#Interrail alas all good journeys must abate. I’ll be back in Barcelona in approximately 12 hours. Awoke to a rather picturesque snowy Strasbourg and some 5€ hostel breakfast buffet. I may have drunk too much orange juice, not sitting well. Thankfully this morning’s tram is not blasting music out of the speakers every 30 seconds like the more modern one I took last night did.

#interrail On ICE train to Karlsruhe, not much noteworthy, other than Pepsi’s Schwip Schwap is tastier than Coca-Cola’s mezzo mix,, and my plug socket is dodgy, and the scenery ain’t great.

Something I’ve noticed on this #interrail trip is the surprising amount of people that get on at non-terminus stations at national borders compared to stations of the same size. I do not have a satisfactory explanation. Of course my experience is just anecdotal of less than ten total border crossings, but I thought it worthy of mentioning in case it’s a real phenomenon.

Anyone know of a tool to plan longer #train trips in europe with openstreetmap? There is https://interrailplanner.com/ and https://github.com/OSM-Interrail-Planner/osm_interrail_planner but I am looking for something where I can enter single legs and it gets plotted on the map; which I can then export.
Similar to DB's "Show on map" functionality, but with OSM.
