Overnight visit to #Zagreb. Couple of hours train from Ljubljana. Apartment was right in oldtown. Short walk from station, like 700m. Evening and morning for some sightseeing, and really good thai food. Now 8h train to Split.
#Split was really nice coastal city. Nice hill next to funny labyrinth old town. Brief visit to nearby islands, swim in blue lagoon. Now off to #Bari by overnight ferry. (See alts)
Day trip from #Bari to #Alberobello #Italy by local bus. Beautiful village presenting things people do to avoid paying taxes (no mortar).
@ikkeT There’s a gorgeous hotel in an old monastery carved into a hillside in Naples, definitely worth seeing. Also, some nice shopping areas (and great pizza, of course), and the Vomero district is very pretty.
There are prettier places along the Amalfi coast though, I’ll give you that.
