Majority of #French would tolerate feeding insect protein to animals.... but that does not mean the people would themselves eat bugs! The wording in this article switches mid-sentence from comparing what people would eat to what animals would eat.

"Westerners aren't too keen on eating insects directly, but according to ADEME, over 70% of French people would accept insect protein *in animal feed*, replacing fishmeal or imported soybean meal."

Insects as feed won't lead to sustainable food systems, government-funded study shows

A new study commissioned by the UK Department of Environment, Agriculture and Rural Affairs found insect protein to have a much higher environmental impact than the animal feed it seeks to replace, and concluded that insects are “not the current solution to decarbonising the animal feed industry."

There isn't a need for this.

Legumes, grains, and many vegetables produce many more times the protein per acre than livestock. Mushrooms and other fungi are even more efficient and can be grown with far fewer resources. The protein levels can likely be cranked up too.

There isn't a need for people to eat bugs.
