Here’s why Trump hate them and wants them to die: The whale was added to the Endangered Species List in 2019. This required companies to take preventative measures to protect these whales when drilling or exploring for oil. Sec. of Defense Pete Hegseth and Sec. of the Interior Doug Burnam say this law totally prevents oil producing at a time when supplies are threatened by Trumps war in Iran. That’s an incorrect interpretation of the law, but the decision has been made: The “God Squad” invoked the national security exemption to doom the whales to extinction. In return, pip companies can pump more profit out of the Gulf without little regard for environmental impact. It’s sad. It’s outrageous. But that’s what we expect from a man with no honor, no empathy, and no respect for the downwind impact of environmental destruction.
