Damned Lies, the GNOME's translation platform, now supports third-party authentication. It is now possible join the translation effort using Fedora, Launchpad, GNOME SSO, GitHub, GitLab.com and Google.

Dear translators, reviewers and GNOME hackers, Around the 5th of July 2025, we will ship a new way to connect to Damned Lies. Registration with a password will be permanently removed and 3rd party providers will be used to login to Damned Lies. For those who used to connect to Damned Lies with a password, your email will have to exist and be accessible, otherwise, you’ll be unable to connect. If you are in this situation, feel free to contact us. Current providers are Fedora, Launchpad, GNOME...

A new #cat #video on #PureOS 10.3 with the #GnomeDesktopEnvironment https://youtu.be/AUv2gRbixUo developed by Purism has been #performance #benchmarked on https://everybytecounts.org. While it performs better than #Zorin with #Gnome, it does not perform as well as #AlpineLinux with #GnomeDesktop. PureOS 10.3 was released in June #2023 and bundled with Gnome Desktop Environment from #2021, #Mutter from 2021, and #GDM from #2020, which is not recommended.

The bundled #GnomeDesktopEnvironment, #Mutter #WindowManager, and #GDM #DisplayManager all appear to be 1-2 year old versions of the #software. The server performance with 280M Memory Usage, 0 CPU Load, and 1.8G Disk Usage, and 11 second reboot time are not the best.

Najnowsze wydanie, czyli Fedora 40 miała mieć swoją premierę 16 kwietnia 2024, ale jak to zwykle bywa w jej przypadku, zaliczyła tygodniowe opóźnienie, więc premiera nastąpiła 23 kwietnia. Przystąpiłem zatem do aktualizacji!
