I think it's preposterous that #EU is #raiding and #fining #US #social #media sites.

The US saw a (genuine) threat in a semi-hostile country with a history of spying on people owning a social media platform used by their population, #TikTok, so they nationalized it and put in government-aligned stooges.

TikTok went from spying on users to spying on users and censoring things the government doesn't like.

That should tell us everything we need to know about US social media: We should not fine them. We should not raid them. We cannot allow a fully-hostile country with a history of spying on and censoring people owning a social media platform used by our population. We should nationalize US social medias.
I also used #gelatin as #fining agent to see if I could remove some of the sediment. That was a failure as I used too much. It also did not sediment down as much as I expected. Will try to use another layer of #cheesecloth for the next batch.

The #European Commission has lost access to its control panel for buying and tracking #ads on Elon #Musk’s X — after #fining the social media platform €120 million for violating #EU #transparency rules.

Maxwell Martin said she expected #Labour government “to understand that #fining vulnerable parents is #cruel, #idiotic, & they don’t.

The actor said compassion was leaching out of #schools

There’s no point in banging on about #behaviour & behaviour tsars. You can’t #teach #children to behave better by making them feel shit. It doesn’t work

We need to meet their needs. We need to make them feel they have worth.”

Anna Maxwell Martin calls for end to ‘cruel, idiotic’ fines for school absence

Exclusive: actor says experience of school refusal showed her more compassion is needed, not exclusions

Not are, but can be. Fining agents generally have specific uses. Bentonite for example is mostly used to remove proteins from wines that can cause haze, especially in white wines. Many higher quality wines aren't fined at all. Often these will say "unfined and unfiltered" on the label.

What is fining in wine? Ask Decanter

Fining in wine involves adding a substance to flush out unwanted elements that may affect colour or flavour, but not everybody does it...

I believe bentonite and activated charcoal cannot substitute for proteins because they bind to different things. Happily, there are vegetable-derived protein fining agents coming to market. #WineMaking #fining #vegan #wine
