Check out the April #drought #outlook from the #NOAA #NWS #Climate Prediction Center.
Good news for some areas, like East TX, OR, UT, and western NE, which should all expect improving conditions and even drought removal. It's not such a happy outlook for the Southern Plains and Florida, nor for the stretch from NC to the Mid-Atlantic that has been drying out these last few weeks.

The remarkable turn of fortune in the #West continued this week with #drought conditions looking as good as they've been in almost two years. Across the region, the extent of drought decreased to 35.6%, down from last year's high of 91%. In Nevada, the extent of drought decreased this week from 80 to 49%. It dropped from 73 to just 29% in Idaho.

What a difference a few months make!
Back in October, Scott County, #Arkansas, was 100% in #drought. Now, it's clear. Photos help us understand what those kinds of changes look like on the ground. Submit your own photos and tell us about your experience at http://go.unl.edu/cmor_drought.
Heavy #storm winds have knocked down trees in #California weakened by years of #drought. Meanwhile, intensely dry conditions have forced #water restrictions in #Texas, triggered burn bans in #Florida, and damaged winter wheat in the #GreatPlains.
