Does anyone have an idea why the Dell WD19TB does not support video via USB-C and HDMI at the same time? I don't want to use two USB connectors but it seems the only way that I can run two displays with different connectors (in addition to the laptop display)

Ich bin ja immer wieder erstaunt, wieviele Signalarten gleichzeitig über so einen USB-C-Anschluss laufen können. Hier eine Docking-Station von Dell: Video, Ethernet, Tastatur, Maus, Audio. Im Inneren ist es entsprechend kompliziert. 29 ICs konnte ich identifizieren.

Falls jemand bei #CachyOS mit #kde Probleme mit eine Displaylink #Dockingstation hat, einfach mal prüfen, ob das Ethernetkabel auch eingesteckt ist. 🙈

What a difference a docking station makes.

I like ThinkPad laptops, but I added a monitor, keyboard and mouse to a my ThinkPad's docking station today. Made a huge difference. I was able to get some work done that I probably wouldn't have completed if not for the large monitor and ease of working with full keyboard and mouse.

I'm looking for an INEXPENSIVE #USBC #DockingStation for my laptop which has a 2.5Gbit (or 5Gbit, or 10Gbit... whatever) ethernet port on it.

Does such a thing exist?

Any #recommendations ???

Up until now, I’ve been exclusively been using #HDMI #cables to connect #monitors to my #laptop. My #DockingStation and one of my monitors does have #DiplayPort connections too. I’ve heard that they provide better speed and performance. and so is it worth geting a Displayport cable (they’re not expensive) or stick with what I have?

Sagtmal gibts eigentlich irgendwas womit man nen Laptop der noch kein Thunderbolt kann an nen Thunderbolt 4 Dock anstecken kann? 🤔

Also, gibt ja so Docks mit Logilink Treiber Requirement, die gehen an meinem Laptop auch per USB-A.
Da läuft ja dann die Bildverarbeitung in diesem Dock irgendwie proprietär.
Im prinzip sowas, dass dann auf USB-C Thunderbolt konvertiert, um ein bestehendes Dock zu verwenden
