Behaarte Schwebfliegen (Syrphus torvus) ähneln der Gemeinen Garten-Schwebfliege (Syrphus ribesii). Wenn man nah genug rangeht und scharfe Fotos machen kann, erkennt man die behaarten Augen von S. torvus.

Bei dieser hübschen Fliege handelt es sich wohl um Liancalus virens. Eine Langbeinfliege, die in Gewässernähe zu finden ist. Ihre Larven entwickeln sich in Moosen und Algen am/im Wasser.

These colorful lesions were originally thought to be just fungal infections (Botryosphaeria dothidea) but were eventually found to harbor midge larvae (Asteromyia carbonifera) that farm the fungi for food and use the hardened hyphae to prevent (sometimes) parasitic wasps from ovipositing into the gall. Die Gemeine Nadelschwebfliege bleibt mit ca. 6 mm recht klein. Man kann sie u. a. an ihrer niedlichen "Schnauze", dem keulenförmigen Hinterleib und an einer gelblichen Hinterleibsbinde erkennen.
