It often occurs to me that Lou Reed would be my ideal embodiment of "Kid" in a nonexistent film of "Dhalgren", that's the Lou Reed of both Rock and Roll Heart and Berlin.

Dhalgren was published in 1975, right between the two albums.

I don't know who else would think the same thing.

In my utopian and SF studies, one thing I keep banging my head against is everyone declaring loudly that Delany’s *Triton* is a utopia, A) without addressing that he called it a “heterotropia” in direct response to Le Guin’s *Dispossessed* that did use the word “utopia,” and, more importantly, B) without ever citing Foucault, where Delany got the word “heterotopia” from in the first place, which Delany declares directly.

Again and again and again.

I just finished the last part of Samuel #Delany's #Nevèrÿon tetralogy (of the queer and quirky sword-and-semiology genre). I've been reading a part each summer for a few years. Really, really good reading. A #fantasy setting where lords and princes of the blood only play the part they do in real history – and where the same is true of slaves, merchants and other women (and men) of all gender. (Have #dragons, are believable.)

Neil Gaiman is adapting Samuel Delany's Nova to a TV series apparently?

This is one of the very few American SF novels that has a major character who's Romani (Pontichos Provechi, the Mouse), so I really hope they will in fact hire a Romani actor to play him....
