Four Suspects Arrested In Parañaque City For Stealing Telecom Cables

Recently in the City of Parañaque, local police officers arrested four suspects over the illegal cutting and the attempt to steal underground copper telecommunications cables, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface…

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief P/Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin commended the swift coordination between security personnel and responding police officers, which resulted in the prompt arrest of four adult male suspects and the recovery of stolen telecommunications equipment.

The incident occurred at around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, 24 April, in front of a gasoline station along Doña Soledad Avenue corner West Service Road, Barangay Don Bosco.

While conducting routine area monitoring, arresting officers intercepted the suspects in the act of illegally cutting and taking underground copper telecommunications cables.

Initial reports showed that security personnel in the area immediately alerted authorities upon noticing the suspicious activity, prompting a coordinated swift police response that resulted in the on-site arrest of four individuals. However, nine of their cohorts managed to flee and are currently the subject of follow-up operations.

Recovered from the scene were several pieces of cut underground copper cable wires measuring approximately two meters in length, with an estimated amount of P262,006.63.

Seized were tools and equipment used in the illegal activity, including a bolt cutter, an improvised steel hook, a white closed van and a motorcycle believed to have been used in the operation.

The suspects are now under police custody and are facing charges for violation of Section 4(d) of Republic Act 10515, also known as the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, did the cutting of the telecommunication cables affect your household somehow? Do you think Parañaque City is becoming a new hot spot for the stealing of telecommunication cables?

Parañaque City Scam Hub Busted, 48 Arrested

Recently in the City of Parañaque, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) busted an online scam hub, arrested forty-eight individuals and recovered pieces of evidence, according to a news report by GMA News.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of GMA News. Some parts in boldface…

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday announced the arrest of 48 individuals allegedly involved in an online scam hub in Parañaque City.

In a statement, the bureau said it received information about a group engaged in illegal schemes such as “love scams,” “pig butchering,” and cryptocurrency investment fraud.

“Love scams” involve fraudsters building fake online relationships to gain victims’ trust before requesting urgent money for fabricated emergencies.

“Pig butchering” scams involve long-term grooming of victims who are then lured into fake cryptocurrency investments that show false profits before funds are stolen.

Cryptocurrency investment scams involve the use of fake trading platforms that promise high returns, display fabricated gains, and later block withdrawals or demand additional fees.

After validating the information, the NBI secured a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) and carried out an operation.

Agents recovered pre-written scripts containing step-by-step guides used to engage and deceive victims.

The NBI said the suspects used “deceptive representations and emotional manipulation” to gain victims’ trust and induce them to send money.

Of those arrested, 41 were Filipino women and seven were foreign nationals.

The suspects were presented for inquest proceedings for alleged computer-related fraud under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA).

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, are you concerned that there could be a lot more scam hubs still operating secretly in the city? Which part of Parañaque do you think could be hot spots of scam hubs? Who do you think founded and managed the scam hub?

South Korean Fugitive Arrested In Las Piñas City

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced that it apprehended a South Korean fugitive  in Las Piñas City for illegal online gambling operations

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the BI’s official announcement. Some parts in boldface…

In line with the directive of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. to intensify the crackdown on foreign fugitives and transnational crimes, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported the arrest of a South Korean national wanted by international authorities for operating illegal online gambling operations.

BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) agents, in coordination with the Korean National Police Agency and the Philippine National Police–Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group, arrested Lee Jonghak, 37, on Tuesday morning , April 14, at a residence in a subdivision in Pamplona Dos, Las Piñas City.

Lee is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice issued in 2025, stemming from an arrest warrant released by the Incheon District Court on the same year for violations of South Korea’s National Sports Promotion Act related to illegal online gambling operations.

Investigations by Korean law enforcement revealed that from August 2021 until recently, Lee and his accomplices operated at least 23 illegal online gambling websites from different locations.

The group reportedly managed sports betting and casino-style games, recruited members, and facilitated financial transactions, generating over KRW 5.33 billion in profits. Authorities estimate the syndicate’s total earnings to have exceeded KRW 350 billion.

Lee reportedly served as an assistant manager overseeing multiple operational teams composed of around 300 employees. The exact amount he personally received remains under investigation.

Records from the BI showed that Lee last arrived in the Philippines in 2024 and was admitted under a probationary permanent resident visa. He was later included in the Bureau’s blacklist and watchlist as an undesirable alien and fugitive from justice.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this recent development? Are you thankful to the Bureau of Immigration for arresting the fugitive?

Five Drug Suspects Arrested In Parañaque City And lllegal Drugs Worth P91 Million Seized

Recently in the City of Parañaque, local police officers successfully pulled off a major anti-drug operation that resulted in five suspects – including one former policeman – arrested and the seizure of illegal drugs worth more than P91 million, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of the Manila Bulletin. Some parts in boldface…

A former policeman and four alleged high-value drug suspects were arrested in a major anti-drug operation that led to the seizure of more than P91 million worth of suspected shabu and high-powered firearms in Parañaque City on Friday, April 10.

Operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) identified the suspects as alias Bossing, 35; James, 49, a resigned member of the Philippine National Police (PNP); Jezreel, 29; Hazel, 25; and alias “Ricardo,” 48.

All five were tagged as newly identified high-value individuals (HVIs) and were apprehended during a buy-bust operation conducted in Sun Valley, Parañaque, following days of surveillance and intelligence monitoring.

Authorities said the operation was launched in coordination with other police units to dismantle a suspected drug syndicate operating in the southern Metro Manila.

Confiscated during the sting were approximately 13.389 kilograms of suspected shabu and five containers of liquid crystalline substance, with a combined estimated Standard drug price of P91,045,200.

Police also recovered two .45-caliber pistols, a Bushmaster rifle, communication devices, and P319,950 cash.

Authorities said the presence of high-powered firearms indicates the group’s capability to protect their illegal activities, raising concerns over the potential violence linked to drug trafficking operations.

“This operation sends a clear message that no drug syndicate is beyond our reach. The Southern Police District will relentlessly pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade and ensure they are brought to justice,” said acting SPD director Col. Glenn Oliver Cinco.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, are you convinced that drug syndicates find the city an ideal place to do their illegal businesses while having the mean to cause harm to local residents? What do you think makes Parañaque an attractive city to those involved in illegal drugs?

Transgendered Suspect Arrested In Parañaque City For Victimizing Japanese National, Two Other Transgendered Suspects On The Loose

Recently in the City of Parañaque, a Japanese national got duped, assaulted and robbed by three transgendered suspects inside a hotel room and one of them eventually got arrested, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. A manhunt has been launched to find the two transgendered suspects who escaped.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of the Manila Bulletin. Some parts in boldface…

A supposed dating app meet-up turned into a violent incident after a Japanese national was allegedly duped, assaulted, and robbed by three transgender suspects inside a hotel room in Parañaque City on April 8.

Parañaque City Police chief Col. Nicolas Pinon identified the victim as Uri, 26, who was staying at Seaside Drive, Entertainment City, Barangay Tambo.

Police arrested one of the suspects, identified as Justine, while two others, known only as Riley and Kitty, managed to escape and are now the subject of a manhunt.

According to the victim, he met Riley through a dating app and agreed to meet at his hotel room. Riley later arrived with companions Justine and Kitty.

Once inside, the suspects allegedly stripped the victim and forced him to perform a sexual act. They then demanded P20,000 each, but the victim refused.

The situation escalated when the suspects allegedly assaulted him—kicking him and threatening him with a stun gun pointed at his face—forcing him to comply and agree to withdraw money.

Police said Justine accompanied the victim to an ATM, where Uri discreetly sought help by typing “Please help me” on his phone and showing it to a hotel receptionist.

The receptionist immediately alerted hotel security, and with the help of a Japanese interpreter, authorities were able to arrest Justine.

However, upon returning to his room, the victim discovered that the remaining suspects had fled and his belongings had been ransacked. Around 200,000 yuan and P9,000 in cash were reported missing.

Justine is now detained at the Parañaque police custodial facility and faces robbery charges.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, do you think there are a lot of violent criminals and thieves within the transgendered community as well as within the LGBT community? Do you know anyone who was victimized by transgendered people lately? What do you think makes transgendered individuals violent? Do you think this incident will discourage Japanese tourists from visiting the Philippines?

Police arrested two high-value targets and seized more than P3.7 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City.

Parañaque City Police chief Col. Nicolas Pinon said the suspects, identified as Toto, 52, and Ronnie, 53, both residents of Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City, were arrested in Barangay San Isidro.

Two Suspects Arrested In Parañaque City For Stealing Motorcycle

Recently in the City of Parañaque, the local police apprehended two suspects behind the theft of a motorcycle, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of the Manila Bulletin. Some parts in boldface…

Authorities arrested two suspects in a motorcycle theft after a 46-year-old man reported his Yamaha Fassio has been missing since March 23 in Parañaque City.

Parañaque City Police Chief Col. Nicolas Pinon identified the suspects as Abdul, 33, and Eric, 33, both residents of Taguig City. They were apprehended along Pajero Street in Barangay Sun Valley, Parañaque City.

According to Pinon, the victim said he parked his motorcycle in a designated parking area. However, when he returned, the vehicle was already missing. The victim immediately sought assistance and reported the incident to authorities at the Sun Valley Substation.

A hot pursuit operation was launched which led to the arrest of the suspects. Police said one of them was driving a white Honda PCX motorcycle while assisting his accomplice using the “tulak paa” maneuver.

Authorities recovered the stolen motorcycle. Police also found a hand grenade in Eric’s possession, while Abdul yielded six grams of shabu worth P40,800.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, do you know anyone who lost a motorcycle to thieves within the city?
