In this particular case it's David Deutsch. He has so many interesting ideas in the #philosophy of #science (such as #ConstructorTheory), very well-reasoned thoughts about fundamental #physics and philosophy more generally.

His blind spot is apparently social science. His carefully considered reasoning somehow defenestrates itself when he goes on that cursed corporate masto-like alt-site and spews one-liners about how "the Woke Movement" (*sigh*) is based on an authoritarian anti-rational philosophy that describes all social dynamics in terms of power structures and seeks to denigrate all those in positions of power, knowledge and "progress" be damned.

It's such a shit strawman take and so frustrating that someone with such influence (and consequently social moral responsibility) doesn't take more care to expose themselves to the perspectives they purport to criticise.
