I never feel good for blaming a sequel based on it not being "more of the same". Especially in the case of #Captive, which offered endless levels anyway, who would need that sort of thing? #Liberation: Captive II is highly ambitious, even moving to a different genre. Nevertheless, it's not nearly as good as its predecessor. Can you see beyond its technical shortcomings? What's more important: ambition or execution?

ISOCD-Win is a C#/.NET Windows replacement for the native Amiga ISOCD application. It creates bootable ISO image files which are compatible with the Amiga CD32 and CDTV. (amiga-news.de reported). Version 1.3.3 now checks file and directory names for invalid characters.
Made it. I found the captive and freed him. I'll be honest. This game has triggered strong emotions in me, both in the positive and negative sense. These sides are still warring inside me. Not yet sure what I really think about it. Will let it sink in for some time before formulating my currently chaotic thoughts in a coherent way.
I really like the visuals and technology in this game. Stairs are seamlessly integrated: you just walk up and continue - no fade to black and jump to the "next level". The game is tile based and operates at classic 90° angles, but all movement is sub-tracked and therefore super smooth. When the robed figures slide from one tile to another, it's spooky. The shading and colouring of the walls gives the impression of curves where there are none.
La primera (y creo que hubo otra más en su día) vez que vi una CD32 fue con este juego, y la música de la pantalla de título me ganó, por supuesto 😊. Y sí, luego estuve años buscando la consola hasta que en 2004 di con una, cuando se vendían por 100€ completas.
